A Celebration of Art and Community
The Michigan Glass Project is a vibrant celebration of art and community that transforms the Russell Industrial Center into a “temporary oasis of glass making,” described by Co-Founder Drew Kups as a “crazy gypsy art fest.” Since 2012, this annual multimedia festival has united flame workers, visual artists, painters, musicians, and thousands of glass enthusiasts to support Art Road Detroit, a nonprofit dedicated to reinstating art classes in schools. With over $500,000 raised, the project has brought art education back to more than 2,200 children throughout Detroit.
The event offers a fantastic experience for everyone, with local food trucks, local craft beverages, and performances by world-renowned glassblowing artists. Evening after-parties extend the festivities, featuring local music and glass art for sale
